ADVERTISEMENT FOX CHASE ESTATES REPLACEMENT SEWER – CONTRACT NO. 54 FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF HILLSBOROUGH MUNICIPAL UTILITIES AUTHORITY Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for the construction of the above referenced project will be received by The Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority until 11:00 AM, prevailing times on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at which time the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at The Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority located at 220 Triangle Road, Suite 234, Hillsborough, NJ, 08844. Work under this contract shall include furnishing all labor, equipment and materials required to complete the replacement of an existing gravity sewer system located within the Right-of-Way of a public road, Piedmont Path, and within sewer easements on township owned properties Block 204.06; Lots 16, 28, and 115. Work includes, but is not limited to, the replacement of approximately 1,691 LF of 12” diameter asbestos-cement pipe with new 12” diameter SDR-35 PVC pipe, and replacement of five (5) existing manholes with seven (7) new precast concrete manhole structures. The replacement sewer main will be installed generally parallel to the existing sewer main. The existing service laterals from approximately nine (9) residential buildings will be connected to the new gravity sewer main. The existing sanitary sewer and manholes with be filled and abandoned in place in accordance with current regulations. The project includes full-width mill & 2” overlay of the asphalt pavement on Piedmont Path following the installation of the gravity sewer and manholes and trench restoration with compacted DGABC and HMA base course in the roadway. Storm sewers in Piedmont Path will be retrofitted with Type N curb pieces and the crosswalk at the intersection of Piedmont Path and Fox Chase Run will be updated with ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps. The portion of the project located in the sewer easement is in an unpaved area with environmental constraints which will require soil erosion and sediment control measures to be installed for the duration of the project, and restoration will include backfill with suitable native material, topsoil and seeding. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 11:00 AM prevailing local time on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the project site: Area bordering open space on Piedmont Path, Hillsborough, NJ 08044. Contract Documents may be examined by prospective bidders at the Authority offices between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on or after Tuesday, June 18, 2024, or purchased upon presentation of the name and mailing address of the interested party and payment of a non-refundable charge of $ 150.00 for reproduction and processing. Checks shall be made payable to “The Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority.” Prospective Bidders are requested to conduct a site visit themselves. This project is being funded by The Township of Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a 1-Year/100% Performance Bond, 1-Year/100% Labor and Material Payment Bond, 1-Year/100% General Maintenance Bond and 5-Year Environmental Maintenance Letter of Credit in conformity with the requirements of the Contract Documents.
